Sunshine Already![February 26, 2017] After two weeks of being pounded by winter weather this week has blessed us with beautiful spring like weather. We are all hoping we have seen the last of winter, but of course in PEI it not uncommon to snow through April so we won't count on it. Starfire and Bellamy are soon ready to be weaned and are both still available. Bellamy will be gelded next month so if anyone was interested in purchasing him intact your time is running out. Only a few more months and the 2017 foals will begin to arrive - spring is an exciting time on the farm!

Winter finally arrived... all of it in 2 weeks! :-)
[February 19, 2017] We have experienced several days of heavy snowfall over the past two weeks. It always means more work for the us humans, but on the bright side the horses seem to enjoy playing and rolling in the snow. We were able to shoot some fun videos and photos of the horses between all the shovelling.
A New Friend Arrived![January 20, 2017] Sierk has a new pasture friend > this month we welcomed Romeo as our newest boarder. He is a 18 year old Warmblood gelding, and he and Sierk have been getting along fabulously. We were worried that Sierk and Daisy would miss each other when we separated them but the move was drama free; Daisy was quite happy to assume her place in the broodmare herd. We also received Daisy's and Starfire's Canadian Warmblood registration papers this week > big thank you to the CLRC and the CWHBA for sorting through the less than stellar paperwork I sent them on these girls. :-) Starfire and Bellamy will be weaned next month. We expect Bellamy will be more upset to say goodbye to his new crush, Daisy, than to his mother. ;-) However I think he will be happy to finally have other male horses to play with since the girls are pretty quick to put a stop to him having any fun - nothing puts manners on a youngster better than a strict group of broodmares.

Happy New Year!
[January 2, 2017] As always we had a very quiet white Christmas and New Years here on the farm, just like we like it. :-) The foals are continuing to grow and develop which is always bitter sweet - we love seeing them develop into fine young horses but always miss the cute foal stage. We were able to get a few pictures of them in their full winter coats. Big congratulations to Stephanie on her new mare Emillia!!! She is a beautiful 14 year old CWHBA mare from Long Lane Farm. Emillia has big shoes to fill but we could tell from her brief stay here that she is going to be very easy to fall in love with. Happy New Year to all our friends and family! We are looking forward to 2017, especially our 3 foals expected this spring.

First Snowfall[December 1, 2016] Was able to get a short video of the foals seeing snow for the first time earlier this week. Once I convinced them to go outside they enjoyed the white stuff. :-)

The Foals Are Starting To Get Fluffy!
[October 20, 2016] Starfire and Bellamy are starting to grow their winter coats and they both look adorable!
Milo Delivered to His New Home[September 5, 2016] Eric and I made a special delivery to Abby Sawyer of Crapaud, PEI today! Congrats Abby on your first riding horse!!! ... and to Milo for winning the pony "dream home" lottery. I am looking forward to seeing this team in action.... after the fabulous dressage trainer Anna Osinga - Bouma puts a few miles on him first. :-) I think this little Arab is going to be so much fun to trail ride! Oh the adventures they will have together!

2016 Hanoverian Inspection - PEI[August 30, 2016] We had a great time at the Hanoverian foal inspection today. Bellamy was such a good boy... and he won Reserve Champion out of 12 foals!!! So proud of him. I want to thank Stephanie Gallant for being our whip person, and Tamara Goff for her moral support. Huge (humongous!) thanks to Ruth Hanselpacker of Aileron Stables for putting on such a well run event, and too all the volunteers who helped today.

Daisy Confirmed In Foal to Schwarzenegger[August 18, 2016] Happy to finally announce that Daisy (Donarweiss/Loredo/ Paradox I)) is in foal to Schwarzenegger. The resulting foal should be a great dual purpose horse boasting sires in its pedigree famous for producing top competitors in both the jumper and dressage rings. We are now done breeding for the season. Huge thanks goes out to Dr. Chris Versteeg of Kensington Vet Clinic for all your work with my mares this year.

Poodle Confirmed In Foal to Barolo[July 21, 2016] Another black dot this morning!!! I am happy to announce that Poodle is in foal to the young Andalusian stallion Barolo. Barolo is a 17hh PRE stallion by the Calificado Grand Prix stallion, Tomillo VII, out of a mare by the famous Legionario III. This foal is intended as a keeper filly for myself so I am already thinking about all the adventures her and I will have together.

Aiva Finds a Great New Home[July 20, 2016] Unfortunately our attempt to use Aiva as a recipient mare failed, but we are very happy to have found her a wonderful new home in New Brunswick with Matthew Straight. Here is a photo if Aiva's with her new riders and best friends, sisters Hayley and Olivia.

New Farm Employees[July 19, 2016] We have 3 new employees at the farm - meet Ismae, Sybella, and Annith. We acquired them a few days ago but tonight was the first time we were able to corner them and get photos and some forced cuddles - they only scratched and hissed a lot. Hopefully they will eventually warm up to us but regardless they will be great for rodent control in the barn.

Czaftig Confirmed In Foal to Dauphin[July 13, 2016] Confirmed this morning Czaftig (Contucci/World Cup IV/ Matcho AA) is in foal to Dauphin (Donnerhall/Feiner Stern/Pik Ramiro) for a June 2016 foal. There is nothing better than seeing a black dot first thing in the morning to set the mood for the whole day! This foal should be an exceptional dressage prospect and the colt option is available in-utero.

Best Friends[June 14, 2016] The foals are finally turned out together! Bellamy fell in love with Korra at first sight, while Korra took a bit more time to warm up to him... but now they are inseparable. This is our first time having more than one foal at once and we are having so much fun watching them play together.

A New Mount for Jackie[May 29, 2016] Star Gazer Farm has a new king of the castle... his name is Sierk and he is settling in great. He is so good with the mares and Eric and I are completely smitten with him after only having him here for a little over a week. Huge thanks to Anna Osinga-Bouma for trusting Eric and I to spoil him with love and take good care of him. I have been without a steady mount for too long now, I am beyond excited to have this new partner.

It's A Boy![May 18, 2016] Czaftig gave birth to a beautiful and huge chestnut colt yesterday! This colt is by the very special Hanoverian dressage sire Bonheur. We are just tickled by the quality we see in this colt already. Here is a short video of his first venture outside at a day old. He is pretty cute as he works at gaining his "land legs". :-)
