Bellezza is a barn favourite with her happy and willing personality, as well as her playful shenanigans that reliably give us a good laugh whenever we are working with her. We love her dearly and are very excited to see the foals she will produce for us. |
Heritage
Bellezza's sire, Bonheur, achieved a top evaluation in rideability at his stallion licensing test in Adelheidsdorf in 1996. He received a 9 for walk and 8 for trot and canter, also receiving 8's for character & temperament. Bonheur won the Championship Stallion Show in Griesbeek, Holland in 1997 and qualified for the Bundeschampionat in 1998 as a five year old. As a six year old, he won the prestigious Nobilis Cup in Bremen, Germany. He has won numerous dressage shows in "S" Level. His offspring are very elegant with tremendous rideability. They have shown high performance ability in dressage, bringing Bonheur's breeding value in dressage to the top 10% in Germany with an overall 150 points. Bonheur has had offspring compete in both S class dressage and jumping.
Bonheur's sire is the legendary Brentano II. Brentano II was a foundation sire for the Hanoverian breed. Sired by Bolero out of renowned brood mare Glocke (by Grande x Ferdinand), Brentano II became the 1985 Hanoverian Licensing Champion, 1986 reserve stallion performance test winner and Hanoverian Stallion of the Year in 2003. He has 1880 registered offspring which are Hanoverian branded. Twenty-three sons are licensed and there are 514 Brentano II-broodmares registered in Germany. His daughter State Premium Mare Bona Dea became the champion of the 2000 Ratje-Niebuhr Elite Mare Show. In the Brandenburg area his daughter Poesie produced a whole new dynasty with World and Bundeschampion Poetin and the licensed stallions Samba Hit I to IV. Brentano II's most famous offspring in the dressage ring were Debbie McDonald's Brentina and Sven Rothenberger's Barclay II. Both competed at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.
Bellezza's damsire, Beau Soleil, was a foal futurity winner and went on to become the 1999 Stallion Licensing Co-Champion. An extremely attractive bright chestnut horse, he has size and elegance with a wonderful expression. He matches his good looks with superior athletic ability both in his excellent gaits and his tremendous jumping ability. The famous Hanoverian G line of Goldfisch II is represented on both sides of his pedigree; once through Grande and once through Gotthard. The legendary blood of Abglanz is also found through his maternal grandsire Abrupt. His direct sire, Bajazzo, is sire of three licensed stallions and has been leading money sire twice at the Fall Breeders Classic Sale. Beau Soleil was top three-year-old stallion at the CWHBA Stallion Performance Test in 2000 and his first foal crop produced the Alberta Foal Futurity Champion, Northern Division.
Warkanson world-renowned bloodlines gave him the genetics to show natural talent for all disciplines. Warkanson's sire Warkant earned the prestigious award of "Hanoverian Stallion of the Year 2002" due to the outstanding performance of his offspring at the highest level of dressage (eg. Wahajama Unicef ridden by Ann-Kathrin Linsenhoff). Warkanson's dam sire, Esprit became famous through producing many internationally competitive jumpers (eg. E.T. ridden by Hugo Simon). Warkanson was imported to Canada (1998) after completing the 11-Month Performance Test in Adelheidsdorf, Germany, successfully with an index of 104.7 pts; equally strong in dressage and jumping.
