Star Gazer Farm

Daisy

"…for there is no other feeling in the world to compare with it if one loves a great horse.
It gives a thrill that nothing else ever can. It cannot be put into words,
because words cannot express it.” ~ Samuel Riddle

This mare has super elastic gaits and larger than life personality! She was destined for the dressage ring but unfortunately suffered a pasture accident as a three year old. She has a character that is impossible not to fall in love with. Hugs from her humans is one of her favourite things and is always first to greet us in the pasture. She shows boundless energy and can rival any stallion for presence - despite her smaller size she somehow seems bigger than all the other horses, and is the undisputed queen of the farm.

Daisy has three quality gaits: nice big panther like walk, excellent back and hock mechanics in trot, and ample strength and agility in canter. In her foals she stamps brave, intelligent, and curious character, elastic powerful gaits with natural affinity for collection, and incredible good looks. Despite being small herself all her foals are quite tall, all being close to the height of their sires.

2023 expecting foal by: Rockefeller (Rohdiamant/Grundstein II)
Rhinelander foal due in April 2023.

Available in-utero: $19,000 Canadian + HST

Rockefeller’s sublime type and conformation are supported by an outstanding performance pedigree representing a high degree of breeding certainty and very strong competition skills. He is out of one of Germany’s strongest performance dam lines, linking directly back to the international eventing mare Rudilore II (aka Chica). With this mare Harli Seifert has established her successful breeding program, since this dam line has produced international esteemed jumping stallions like Gio Granno, Conterno Grande, Couleur Rubin and Couleur Rouge and dressage stallions like D-Day, Don Chico, Trantris and not to forget Blue Hors Rockefeller’s five licensed full brothers Rubin Royal, Blue Hors Romanov, Rumicello, Rubino Vincento and Rubin Action. Blue Hors Rockefeller’s sire Rohdiamant now ranks as the 3rd best producer of dressage horses thanks to his numerous offspring in international Grand Prix.

Rockefeller is throws beautiful elegant offspring who are very good movers, with lovely temperaments. He is the sire of Rockson, winner of the Danish Equestrian Federation’s championship for 4-year old dressage horses in 2015, and the grandsire of Lyngbjergs St. Paris, the 2022 5 year old world dressage champion. He is also the sire of approved stallion Dortheamindes Rocky.

Rockefeller is the perfect match for our Daisy in every way - we could not be more excited to meet this foal. To date all three of Daisy's foals have taken exclusively after their sire in terms of height, so we expect the foal to fall into the 16.2-16.3hh range. It should have great talent for both dressage and hunter. Foal colour could be bay, brown, black, or chestnut, and, of course, gorgeous.

Heritage

Daisy's dam, Larissa, was imported from Germany as a youngster and still competes in dressage at 4th level the age of 21 years old with her owner Tamsyn Kouwenburg. Larissa boasts a strong damline with both her dam and grand-dam producing licensed Westfalen stallions, most notably the influential stallion, Anmarsch, as well as competitive show jumpers. Larissa is by Loredo who was a high quality son of the great Holsteiner stallion Lord, who produced top class jumping and dressage horses as well as many successful sires.

Daisy's sire, Donarweiss,
was champion of his 30 day test with an overall score of 8.33. He showed his versatility with individual scores of 9 for rideability and jumping technique. Donarweiss has successfully competed at Grand Prix for over nine years with his young rider Genay Vaughn. His sweet character, athleticism, trainability and incredible looks are attributes that he passes down to his offspring.

Donarweiss’s sire, De Niro, was reserve champion of his performance test with 141.93. De Niro had a wonderful sport career with over 24 wins at S- level and had sired 108 State Premium mares, 25 Approved sons, and numerous FEI competitors earning him the top spot on the WBFSH Dressage Sire Ranking List in 2013 and 2015-2018. Donarweiss’s Damsire, Hohenstein, was Reserve Champion of his Stallion Performance Test and has been a very influential dressage sire. Further back in Donarweiss’s pedigree we find Archipel, a son of 1994 Hanoverian Stallion of the Year Argentan, which brings additional scope and jumping ability.
