Star Gazer Farm

EM Rea

“Faeries, come take me out of this dull world, for I would ride with you upon the wind, run on the top of the dishevelled tide, and dance upon the mountains like a flame.”
~ W.B. Yeats, The Land of Heart's Desire

Rea is exceptionally unflappable mare with almost too much intelligence as she is the farm escape artist. Her good nature is only surpassed by her beauty. She is a mare with a lot of presence, confidence, and poise. She has three good rideable gaits, with her canter being especially lovely.

Rea's pedigree is an impressive mix of top dressage sires with a splash of influential jump sires to add some versatility. Perhaps most noteworthy is Rea's dam's production record. EM Dulcinee produced 11 offspring with at least two competing  to the the FEI level of dressage, two champion foals, and several elite mares.

Heritage

Rea's sire, Regazzoni, is by Rubinstein I out of the great Werther mare Wakonda.  His legendary sire has strongly influenced this era of sport horse breeding and passes on rideability, trainability and elegance.  Regazzoni's damsire, Werther, is equally influential. At his 100-day-test in 1994, Regazzoni scored an outstanding 152.16 points including perfect 10's for temperament and rideability, traits which he readily passes on to his offspring. His dressage index alone was 140.53 confirming him as the highest scoring stallion out of the 52 other stallions at the Munster-Handorf site. In 1995, Regazzoni was federal vice-champion German riding horse in Warendorf and in 1996, he won the finals of the German five-year old dressage championships. He has 13 licensed sons and an integrated dressage index by the German FEI of 133 points. In Germany he consistently produced long legged elegant offspring that have been very successful at breed inspections and in the dressage arena.

Rea's damsire, Davignon I, is considered to be one of Donnerhall’s best sons, having earned Class I scores at his licensing in 1991 before going on to win the Bundeschampionat in 1992. Exceptional presence and lofty movement put Davignon into the limelight of Germany’s producers from the very start of his career. Davignon developed into a highly successful Grand Prix dressage stallion. However, it is Davignon's offspring that give him true international status. Davignon was one of Europe's most sought-after stallions. Nine offspring of Davignon represented him in the 1998 Bundeschampionat in Warendorf; it is prestigious for a stallion to be represented by even a single offspring in this annual event! In 1997, Duvalier (Davignon-Bolero-Wendekreis) proudly claimed the championship title for his father in both the German and European Championships for five-year old dressage prospects.

Her pedigree also contains notable bloodlines such as Pik Bube I, Argentan I, Graphit I, Gotthard, and Goldfisch II.

Rea boasts an unbroken pure Hanoverian damline that goes back over 200 years!
