Registered: Hanoverian Barn Name: Alax Date of Birth: May 30, 2020 Sire: Glorioso Noir (Glorieux/Grundstein I/Landsknecht I) Dam: Raven (Ruiz Soler/Rienzi/Wenzel I) Breeder: Star Gazer Farm Sex: Mare Colour: Black with star and left hind sock DNA: FFS non-carrier, Red factor Ee, Agouti aa, PSSM1 clear Height: Expected to mature 17hh Suitability: Dressage, Hunter, & Broodmare Price: $35,000 Canadian (approx. $25,000 USD) One of the last daughters of Glorioso Noir, this filly is impeccably well bred on both the top and bottom of her pedigree which brings valuable G-line blood close up through her sire Glorioso Noir whose pedigree goes back to Goldfisch II seven times, and includes famous ancestors such as Grosse Liebe, Grundstein I, Goldstern, Gotthard, Grande, and Graphit. Her dam also brings in notable bloodlines such as Rubinstein I, Wenzel I, Ramiro Z, Bolero, and Argentinus. Alax boasts an unbroken pure Hanoverian damline that goes back over 200 years!
Nicknamed "the perfect child", Alax has been the easiest foal and youngster we have ever had. She has yet to this day to put a foot wrong and is always willing and trusting, as well as sweet as can be. She is a strikingly gorgeous mare with a strong loin and hip, long legs with good bone, and beautiful topline. Her movement is uphill and powerful, with a good amount of suspension in the trot. Will make a lovely amateur or youth mount for either the dressage or hunter ring once trained. She will head for training soon if not sold. She has the potential to be a valuable dressage broodmare bringing a strong G-line foundation to compliment well with the popular modern stallions of today. We chose this filly to retain to continue Glori's legacy in our breeding herd; she is only now reluctantly offered for sale as we are changing the size and direction of our program. She gave a stellar dressage colt with and amazing temperament in 2023 by Vilancio. ![]() |
Heritage
Alax's dam, Raven, is a product of the well respected Marefield Meadows breeding program. She is a lovely mare inside and out. Very correct legs and hooves, with good amount of bone. Excellent hindquarter mechanics and works nicely over her back. Temperament is sweet, cuddly, and willing.
Raven's sire, Ruiz Soler, personifies the essence of the modern riding horse. He returned to Klein Roscharden from the stallion performance test in Neustadt/Dosse as the outstanding winner, receiving scores of 9 and 10 for rideability and jumping which proves his great double talent, combining three excellent basic paces with fascinating jumping qualities. In 2000 he received the Main Premium for the excellent quality of his first foal crop. No wonder with his ancestors: Rubinstein 1 and Argentinus have been top, elite German sport horse makers for years. Ruiz Soler won several riding horse tests as well as dressage horse tests in novice level, before being exported to the United States where he was gelded and went on to success in the hunter ring under the name "Honored".
Raven's grandsire, Rienzi, was also bred and owned by Marefield Meadows. He was the highest placed Hanoverian stallion at his 100 day test in 1998, showing an excellent canter, trot and walk with a strong but elastic back. He showed to 3rd level in dressage. He produces rideable amateur friendly offspring that are athletic and very versatile. They are known for their beautiful feet, strong backs/loins, and a very quick hind leg. They are quiet and lovely to work with. Rienzi offspring have found much success in both the hunter and dressage rings.
Alax's sire, Glorioso Noir, had suspended gaits and excellent conformation that made him equally talented for dressage and jumping. He completed his 100-day stallion testing in Germany and finished in 11th place out of 40 stallions, placing equally well in both dressage and jumping. Among the highlights of his scores were an 8.0 on character, temperament and willingness to work, and constitution. He received an 8.0 on jumping ability and an 8.0 on his trot. Glorioso competed in the young horse dressage classes as well as in the hunters and jumpers with a junior rider. He was the 2007 AHS Regular Working Hunter Champion. Shown in the FEI 5-Year-Old Young Horse Dressage classes. Awarded top ribbons in the rated hunter and jumper divisions at AA shows.
Glori's sire, Glorieux, was 1st in his performance testing 1989 at Adelheidsdorf, scoring 139.03 in dressage and 114.98 in jumping. Glorieux has produced many elite auction horses and show winners. At the stallion performance test Glorieux caused quite a stir because of his outstanding results in nearly every aspect, scoring 9 or better 8 times. His show career was also successful winning the Oldenburg Championship in Rastede in 1988, the german riding horse Championship in 1988 and went to stud unbeaten in conformation classes in 1989.
Glori's damsire is the legendary grand prix dressage stallion Grundstein who was imported to the US in 1985 after siring 13 fully approved breeding stallions in Germany. He has been the leading sire in the FN rankings among stallions in the top 10% of their age group in both jumping and dressage since 1988. In 1995 Grundstein's dressage index was 178 and his jumping index was 142.
THE G-LINE: From the Hanoverian Verband website:
"No other stallion line is that much associated with performance than the one of the Goldammer II/Flugfeuer II-son Goldfisch II. Through his progeny Grande and Gotthard, he has added properties such as work ethic, power, toughness and expression to this stallion line. Wherever our horses have to perform at the highest level, wherever it is getting tough, this bloodline can be found in the pedigree. G-blood is a necessity.
The blood stands for properties such as energy, willingness to perform and – above all – for the physical capacity and stability to accomplish extraordinary performances. It would be desirable to start re-establishing these properties even more in our breed by using G-bloodlines. This was the intention of the Hannoveraner Verband when it launched its G-initiative in 2007, targeting on increasing breeder’s attention on performance properties and thus boosting breeding rates of stallions from this bloodline...
The Hanoverian sport horse breed is inseparably linked with the G-bloodline. And this will not change in the future."
