Raven is a product of the well respected Marefield Meadows breeding program. She is a lovely mare inside and out. Very correct legs and hooves, with good amount of bone, and a beautiful feminine head. Excellent hindquarter mechanics and works nicely over her back, with an especially nice canter. Temperament is sweet, cuddly, and willing. We feel very grateful to have been entrusted with this jewel of a mare. We were so impressed with her first filly, Galaxie Noire, that we retained her for our own breeding herd. Her second foal, Drogo, was a stellar colt who was purchased as a stallion candidate for Fox Hill Farm.

Heritage

Raven's sire, Ruiz Soler, personifies the essence of the modern riding horse.  He returned to Klein Roscharden from the stallion performance test in Neustadt/Dosse as the outstanding winner, receiving scores of 9 and 10 for rideability and jumping which proves his great double talent, combining three excellent basic paces with fascinating jumping qualities.

Stallion Performance Test 1999, Neustadt-Dosse: Overall score 132.4, Dressage score 127.28, Jumping score 128.42.

​In 2000 he received the Main Premium for the excellent quality of his first foal crop.​ No wonder with his ancestors: Rubinstein 1 and Argentinus have been top, elite German sport horse makers for years.  Also noteworthy is the double influence by top sire and half Trakehner, Absatz, in the fourth generation. With Hessenstein/Trakehner and Lateran/Trakehner, this dam line also has plenty of East Prussian blood in earlier generations which practically guarantees a noble, consolidated inheritance.

Ruiz Soler has the same dam line as Absolute, a sire at the State Stud Celle, Kassander (private sire in Denmark), Marschall (State Stud in Schwaiganger) and Rico (State Stud Marbach). This dynasty has produced numerous athletes as well as auction horses. 

Ruiz Soler won several riding horse tests as well as dressage horse tests in novice level, before being exported to the United States where he was gelded and went on to success in the hunter ring under the name "Honored". He began his career with Scott Stewart in the irons but also showed with a child rider in his later career. Because he was gelded many years ago, his offspring are difficult to find and we are very lucky to have one of his daughters in our program!

Raven's grandsire, Rienzi, was also bred and owned by Marefield Meadows. He was the highest placed Hanoverian stallion at his 100 day test in 1998 with a final score of 108.75, showing an excellent canter, trot and walk with a strong but elastic back. He showed to 3rd level in dressage.  He produces rideable amateur friendly offspring that are athletic and very versatile.  They are known for their beautiful feet, strong backs/loins, and a very quick hind leg.  They are quiet and lovely to work with.  Rienzi offspring have found much success in both the hunter and dressage rings.
